The Proxes R1R is an ultra-high-performance passenger car tyre from Toyo Tires. Used by competitors in the Toyo Drift Australia series, the Proxes R1R is designed for drivers who want uncompromised performance from a tyre with exceptional levels of wet and dry grip. The Toyo Proxes R1R motorsport-inspired silica-reinforced tread compound (with UTQG Treadwear Rating of 200) means it can be used in the Clubsprint class at ‘Superlap’ and ‘Time Attack’ events where rules specify tyres with a UTQG Treadwear Rating of over 100. Tread shaving/buffing will provide improved lap times for these events in dry conditions.
The load rating (represented by the numerical value) is related to the maximum weight that tyre can carry. So in this case 105 would refer to a load capacity of 925kg, with most passenger vehicle load indexes range from 62 to 126.
In all instances the tyres load index must meet or exceed the value displayed on the vehicles placard.
The speed category symbol, for example 'S', indicates the maximum speed at which the tyre can carry a load corresponding to its load index. So in this case, 'S' would refer to a maximum speed of 180km/hour.
See the chart below for a full list of speed symbols and their applicable values.
